Les Voiles de St Barth and the Maxi 72s
The Caribbean season was boisterous this year with plenty of breeze and big waves. Nowhere was this more the case than at Les Voiles de St Barth, a week long regatta run from the chic French island that, like many in the region, had fought to get back on its feat after hurricane Irma swept through last September. But this year, rather than watching, the World Sailing Show rode aboard Peter Harrison’s Maxi 72 ‘Sorcha’ to get a full taste of the action.
Ben’s big deal
The second round for Sir Ben Ainslie’s British America’s Cup team took an unexpected turn when a new sponsor and a big budget were revealed. We tracked Sir Ben down to ask him some questions about the new deal and what it means for his team’s plans going forward.
Volvo Ocean Race – Heading north, pressure’s on….again
The physical stress of the Southern Ocean was behind them and the relief was clear to see. Dongfeng had slipped into the lead and were all smiles…for a while. As the long leg north from Brazil to Newport played out, it looked like we knew what was coming, but the closing stages of the race changed all that and dumped stacks of pressure back on the teams.
The world’s biggest world championships
The clock is counting down to the Hempel Sailing World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark this coming August. With over 1,000 boats and 1,500 competitors the two week event promises to be the biggest worlds ever for Olympic classes.

eSailing World Championships launch
Announced last year, officially launched this month, the eSailing World Championships is open to anyone who fancies their chances in a new online sailing game and being flown to the States to compete in the live finals in Sarasota later this year.

To win a World Championship title in any class is impressive, but to win three consecutive titles in the International Moth class is unprecedented. We take a look at who and how it was done.
